Identium® Scan
The future of the world is digital, this also applies to the world of dentistry. This was clearly confirmed by the IDS 2011, which has just recently ended. As a specialist in the field of dental solutions, Kettenbach has developed a scannable impression material to meet this trend: Identium® Scan.
Identium® Scan represents the interface between standard impression taking and digital information processing in the CAD/CAM workflow. Identium® Scan provides the dental practice with an introduction to the digital world without major change or investment - easy with the use of the new, scan-optimized impression material Identium® Scan.
There are three products with different viscosities available that are specifically optimized to the market-leading red-light technology, e.g. 3Shape or Dental Wings.
The Identium® Scan product family comprises:
- Identium® Scan Medium, medium viscosity, scan-optimized impression material in the Plug & Press® system (foil bag material, 362 ml, 5:1), optimal when used in the monophase impression technique.
- Identium® Scan Heavy, high viscosity, scan-optimized impression material in the Plug & Press® system (foil bag material, 362 ml, 5:1), optimal when used for impressions of crowns/bridges, inlays/onlays and veneers in the double mix impression technique in combination with Identium® Scan Light.
- Identium® Scan Light, low viscosity, scan-optimized impression material in cartridges (50 ml, 1:1), optimal when used for impressions of crowns/bridges, inlays/onlays and veneers in the double mix impression technique in combination with Identium® Scan Heavy.
Identium® - combines the best of two worlds
As is evident from the product name, the four scannable impression materials presented here belong to the Identium® family brand, which is based on the newly developed material vinylsiloxanether®. Vinylsiloxanether® creates a synthesis of the characteristics of polyether and those of A-silicones and therefore combines the best of two worlds: excellent flowability in combination with exceptional hydrophilicity and outstanding elastic properties.
Identium® is odorless and has a neutral taste, it is easily removed from the patient’s mouth (and from the stone model) and provides maximum precision when taking impressions. And with Identium® Scan this standard can be directly transferred to the CAD/CAM workflow with optimum image reproduction, ensuring the highest precision.
